Hello
I shall be visiting Tbilisi for 4 days/3 nights in mid March, and I have a few questions that I was hoping a local could answer..
1) Are there any large supermakets around?
2) Can you recommend some good bars clubs, somewhere safe but decent. What sort of prices are drinks, in Euros for say vodka coke?
3) I assume the city is safe to wander round at night? I%26#39;m a keen photographer and would like to get some night shots in.
4) What is the average price of a meal out at a cafe/resteraunt? I.e xx euros for a main dish, xx euros for a average bottle of wine.
I think thats all I can think of for now. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Few questions - local knowledge needed please
Hello,
1) yes, there are lots of supermarkets in Tbilisi, and they all accept Visa/MC, but really large one, where you can buy meals, garments, shoes and furniture together is only one at the entry of the city, named as Goodwill;
2) bars here is also not a few, depending what type of bars you are searching for. prices are also are very different depending place. for example, if there is live music it%26#39;s much more expensive, vodka coke you can find from 2Euros, depending on Vodka and Bar;
3) I adore Tbilisi at nights and I am sure you will feel the same. it%26#39;s really safe, and don%26#39;t miss the view from Mtatsminda mount.
4)everyday meals at fast-food restaurants/cafes (not meaning Mcdonald%26#39;s and hamburgers) will cost you 10-15 Euros per day; if you will decide to buy already made dishes in Supermarkets maybe even cheeper. for main dish you can count 2-3 Euros, coke, tea, coffee - 1 Euro, bottle of wine varries from 5 to 100 Euros :))), but most probably it will cost you about 10Euros
don%26#39;t miss to taste Khachapuri, Khinkali, Satsivi, and mushroom on ketsi; our cuisine is very tasty and i would not advise search for pizzas or any other already known dishes
If you have any other questions don%26#39;t hesitate to ask
good luck, you are welcome

Few questions - local knowledge needed please
Many thanks, that is really usefull.
One last question - any recomended bars/clubs? Will be going Sunday to Weds so ones that are busy in the early week?
Hello,
No matter - every day of week is busy and active, as the bars are working till late night. ask for Perovskaya (Akhvlediani str.) or Shardeni str. first one of them is at the centre of the city, and the second one in old part of the city (but that is also centre :)) ). they are two special streets for bars and nightlife
In most of bars there from 21:00 you can enjoy live music, usually music in interntional, well-known for everyone, and what is important to know - they are expensive than others, i mean 10 Euros per dish etc.
try to use local currency, using euros will cost you more expensive; small exchange points are safe, or you can go to the bank, which are in every 50m., I think in the centre :)))
HI,
some palces are more popular with expats. I would say Hangar Bar behind Ambassador hotel is good for drink (food is not as good) and we like Betsy%26#39;s Hotel, 32-34 Makashvili St (on Mthatzminda) has very lovely view on city especially at night. Crowded on Friday%26#39;s has free food !!! it%26#39;s why...
I%26#39;m 27 so want trendy bars with nice girls basically :)
the hungarian bar onelf was talking about is really good place to drink, and listen good live music. about girls - it%26#39;s matter of taste, who can advice, espesially, in the bars I prefer if boys serve :)))
quality of service in the bars is increasing time by time, usually there are young girls or boys everywhere, with smiley faces, so I think you can choose first bars and then girls :)))
