Location of Marriott

Just wondering whether the Marriott on Rustaveli and the Courtyard Marriott are really 500m apart? Not sure if its worth paying the extra $40 a night to be located on Rustaveli Avenue? Advice please.

Location of Marriott

Hi MrSporran

The two Marriott Hotels are probably a little further than 500m apart but not much.

The Marriott on Rustaveli is a 5 Star Hotel and the Courtyard is..... well a Marriott Courtyard.

If you plan on being outside most of the time then the cheaper Courtyard is for you. However my choice would always be the Marriott on Rustaveli. However I%26#39;m a little biased as I spent four years on the Marriott refurbishment taking from the bombed out shell from the Tbilisi war to what it is today.

If you are in Tbilisi on a Sunday, the Sunday brunch at the Marriott is about the best value in the world. For GEL 65 ($39) you can eat and drink as much as you want from noon until 4pm. We generally arrive at 11:59am and leave at 4:01pm The drinks include champagne, wine and beer.

When do you plan to come to Tbilisi. New faces are always welcome.

Location of Marriott

C_B,

Thanks for the information which is a good help. Just last night we booked the Courtyard. The corporate deal we got with Expedia was just too good to refuse.

We are part of the Tartan Army, and are visiting for the match against Georgia. We arrive on Sunday 14th October and leave on Saturday 20th, so that should give us plenty of time to explore what appears to be a wonderful country (either side of Scotland thrashing Georgia, of course ;--)

Just make sure the bars are well stocked!

Thanks again.

Mr S

I%26#39;ll be popping into the Courtyard when you are there. I%26#39;ll listen out for some distinctive Glaswegian accents and ask for Mr S

C_B

Make sure you do, C_B, and make sure you say hello. However, you may not make work the next day if you end if in a round with the Tartan Army. ;-)

Regards,

Mr S

Not making work the next day for the ';right'; reasons ain%26#39;t a problem for me.

However getting that far in the Marriott is an expensive hobby. I%26#39;ll show you the cheaper way in better bars.

Admittedly, this is taken from a rather unreliable %26#39;rag%26#39; here in Scotland.

I am really looking forward to this trip next month, and cant believe it to be true.

C_B, I%26#39;ve not forgotten your kind offer and I%26#39;ll send you an e-mail later. Cheers, bud!
