Tbilisi to Batumi

Any thoughts on what%26#39;s the best way to travel from Tbilisi to Batumi (on a Sunday, if that matters at all)? Anything interesting on the way that would justify hiring a car for a day? How long should the ride take by train, bus or a shuttle taxi? Thanks a lot!

Tbilisi to Batumi

I always travel by the train. It takes about 8 hours. There is also an overnight sleeper train but very uncomfortable and you don%26#39;t know who you will share with.

Well. Travelling by a train is not for 8 hours. Its just for 6 hours and not very much interesting. as u just sit or maybe walk and wait. The best way is by car. you will be travelling over half of Georgia and will be able to stop at any nice place you like to see. Travelling by car will take about 6 hours or even more as im sure you would like to stop at many nice places on your way to Tbilisi.

There are mini buses from Batumi for 18 L. They are leaving every hour but you will not be able stop it at any place you like.

So if you have home and time take a car and enjoy your travelling.

Good luck

Im sure you will like it.
